Sport climbing in Sella

Sella is a small town in the province of Alicante, between Alcoy and Benidorm. Although it is a mountain village, it is 30 minutes drive from the coast. The valley of Sella is spectacular, with large walls full of climbing routes everywhere. The impressive, diamond-shaped wall of the Divino, with several multi-pitch routes, stands out above all in the valley. It is one of the best sports climbing areas near Alicante, with also some multi-pitch routes of great difficulty.

It is a very quiet area, away from roads and large urban centers. In general there is a lot of climbing in the sun, which makes it perfect for winter.

Probably the most famous sector is the Wild Side wall, with the highest concentration of 8th grade quality routes in the whole province. The sectors near the parking lot such as Culo de Rinho offer technical climbing on gray limestone vertical routes, sometimes a little polished by the large number of climbers who visit them.

There is a refuge for climbers that usually opens on weekends and holidays. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy.

Getting there

There is a big parking where you can sleep. There is also a refuge where you can sleep inside for few euros but you need to know the owners because it is private.

The village is very small and there is no big city near the village. So it is better when you carry all the thing before to come. You should find everything you need in Benidorm. It is 30 minutes by car but the street is not so cool.
