Climbing in Sella

Sella is a small town in the province of Alicante, between Alcoy and Benidorm. Although it is a mountain village, it is only 30’ drive from the coast. The valley of Sella is spectacular, with big walls full of climbing routes everywhere. It is a very quiet area, away from roads and large urban centers. In general there is a lot of climbing in the sun, which makes it perfect for winter.

The impressive diamond-shaped wall of Divino, with several multi-pitch routes, stands out above all in the valley. It is one of the best sports climbing areas near Alicante, also with sport and trad multi-pitches routes of great difficulty.

Probably the most famous sport sector is Wild Side, with the highest concentration of 8th grade quality routes in the whole province. The sectors near the parking lot such as Culo de Rinho offer technical climbing on gray limestone vertical routes, sometimes a little polished by the large number of climbers who visit them.

The Refugio Font de l’Arc in Sella is a private refuge for climbers who usually opens on holiday and weekends. It is directly located in the parking for the climbing area and the only contact information is a Facebook profile. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy.
